  4. 04

The education and training at the Human Academy Japanese Language School conforms to all the guiding items of “Education and Training” in the Culture Council Japanese Language Subcommittee’s “Approaches to Japanese Language Teacher Training and Education (Report) Revised Version.”
The purpose of our Japanese language education is to prepare students to become active members of society.

In order to be an active member of society, it is necessary to be able to do more than just “understand”. Students must also be able to “take action,” which is why we have set the following items as our teaching philosophy.

Educational Policy

Our goal is to develop students’ proficiency and to put active learning into practice through cooperative learning and student-centered lessons. The classroom is a place where students can learn independently and autonomously, and can communicate with each other in Japanese. Teachers establish a place where collaborative learning can take place and support students’ activities in that place.

Internship Period and Objectives

7-day course (weekdays)
It is for those who aim to become a Japanese language teacher.
Currently, the Agency for Cultural Affairs is considering a "certified Japanese-language teacher."
It states that "it is necessary to take teaching practice in order to acquire the practical skills included in the skills and attitudes necessary for Japanese language teachers."
In conducting practicum training, it is required to use the teaching practice facility and to give at least two lectures of 45 minutes per class.
This exercise meets these requirements.

Testimonials from Students

・I learned a lot from teaching methods that I had never experienced before and that I was able to learn "learner-centered lessons through collaborative learning." (2021 B, C.H.)

・It was a very good experience to be able to see and think about things from various perspectives, such as being able to see the actual class, try to be on the student's side, and actually take the stage as a teacher. (2021 C UNIVERSITY, T.H.)

・The advice I received during the training was all useful for creating better lessons. There are many practical classes and they do something voluntarily, and I felt that the students who take the classes will enjoy learning. (2021 Qualification Holder A.O.)

・If you stay in one place for a long time, your thoughts will inevitably solidify, so it was a good opportunity to look at the site from a different direction and think about it. It was interesting because the teaching practice itself was collaborative learning. It was fun, so I didn't feel as tired as I expected. (A.H., part-time lecturer at a Japanese language school in 2021)

・The lectures by the teachers were very enjoyable. I had many opportunities to study in groups and pairs, so I was able to get along well with other trainees. (2021 Japanese Language Instructor, Mr. Y.M)

・They were all wonderful teachers. Not only did they have knowledge, but they also kindly supported me when I was in trouble. (2021 University A, Yuka Ike)
