Ever since I was a child, I had a dream: to win a gold medal at the famous "International Sports Festival." Although I was not able to achieve that dream, the day has come when I can get closer to the stage I longed for.

Three years ago, I started applying to be a volunteer for the International Sports Festival, and after several screenings and interviews, I was finally selected. I will never forget the joy and excitement I felt on the day the results were announced.

I've loved sports since I was born, and at the age of five I jumped into the world of swimming. I practiced swimming every day, all year round, and continued to fight with all my might to make my dream come true. I worked hard, believing that if I just worked hard for one more hour, one more minute, one more second, I would get closer to my goal.

Once an athlete faces a competition, they never give up, no matter what happens. I still live with this athletic spirit. So even though I can't stand on the stage myself, I want to cheer on other athletes from close by and leave memories of the athletes shining. This is the main reason why I decided to work as a volunteer.

For various reasons, I had no choice but to put the brakes on my life as an athlete. One summer, while traveling abroad, I was watching people working at the airport, speaking fluent Japanese. Suddenly, I began to think about finding something other than swimming that I could be proud of. And so, I decided to study abroad in Japan. As an international student, I was able to see the world from a different perspective, and surprisingly, my view began to change.

I studied Japanese hard at a Japanese language school and was able to pass the entrance exam for a Japanese university. At university, I not only studied hard, but also devoted myself to many volunteer activities. After graduating, I was able to find a job that suited me, and after undergoing new graduate training at a Japanese company, I was able to acquire a lot of knowledge and skills.

Today, I am no longer a girl who only knew the world of swimming, but a career woman who devotes herself to her work while considering sports a part of her life. I was happy before I was a competitive swimmer, but I am still very happy working as a company employee. This is because I have never once left the world of sports in my heart. I have grown into the person I am today because of the time when I loved sports and continued to work hard.

Sports in Japan all year round

Don't forget who you were when you had dreams, when you worked hard towards those dreams, when you suffered setbacks and felt down, and when you never gave up and got back up again. Even in difficult times, if you don't lose your faith, don't give up, and keep moving forward, the path will open up. Let's do our best to start a new life in Japan, while also playing sports. We look forward to seeing you in Japan.
